EM&I strives to be a socially responsible citizen in the global markets in which we operate. We will contribute positively to the well-being of the communities in which we work and to the people we employ. We strive to be environmentally responsible in our daily working by adopting policies which encourage sustainability. We conduct our business with honesty, integrity and respect.

Health, safety and the environment are our top priorities in everything we do.

Health and Safety

We are committed to creating a safe and healthy environment for our employees, clients, suppliers and all other stakeholders we work with and those members of the public who may be affected by our operations. We have a Health and Safety Policy in which all employees are trained and regularly updated. We are committed to continuously improving in our health and safety performance.


We are committed to the care of the environment, minimising carbon emissions and the prevention of pollution.

We ensure that all our activities are carried out in conformance with relevant environmental legislation. We seek to minimise waste, promote recycling, reduce energy consumption, reduce harmful emissions and seek out suppliers who themselves have operate sustainable business policies.

We are committed to improving our environmental performance and set annual environmental improvement objectives and targets, which are regularly monitored and reviewed.

We work to reduce our carbon footprint. We use video conferencing to reduce travel. We recycle mobile phones, ink cartridges and wastepaper in all our offices. Electrical devices are switched off rather than placed in standby mode when not in use and we encourage minimal use of paper.

Regular appraisals and coaching ensure that we help develop the skills our people need. We provide comprehensive internal training, coaching and mentoring programmes and sponsor external courses to help our employees reach their full potential.

We have an EM&I Code of Ethics in which our people are trained. No employee working for EM&I will accept or offer a bribe or any other improper inducement and this policy is communicated to our employees in line with current legislation.

We recruit, employ develop and promote employees in line with our equal opportunities policy and recognise and value diversity in our workforce.

Our Communities

We support the communities in which we live, giving to charities instigated by our employees locally and internationally and by actively working with organisations that help develop talent in underprivileged young people and give them an opportunity to reach their full potential.

We support charities in developing countries by encouraging our staff to organise and participate in fund raising events with contributions being at least matched by the organisation. This is an important part of corporate social responsibility.

We encourage our management to lead by example with these principles in mind at every level.
