EM&I Wins ODIN Diverless UWILD Contract in the UK
August 18th, 2014

EM&I UK have won a major UWILD contract to inspect the isolation valves on a number of discharge lines on an operating FSU which is based in the North Sea.
The project will involve the use of EM&I’s unique camera insertion methodology, a component of their ODIN™ Diverless UWILD (underwater inspection in lieu of drydocking) system.
EM&I’s successful ODIN method has four key stages. An engineering plan development, structural inspection of external features from within the hull, a mini ROV hull survey and an isolation valve inspection carried out by inserting a specialised camera system into the pipe.
The work on the UWILD contract has already started with a site survey. This is to gather important information about the project and is a first for EM&I’s ODIN™ in the UK.
Danny Constantinis, EM&I CEO said “I am delighted that we have been awarded this project which will follow the successful implementation of ODIN™ in Brazil and will open up a significant new market for EM&I in the UK sector.”
Further work is also expected with the client to support their Life Extension programme.
