EM&I Group Gathers for Malta conference

EM&I Group held its annual workshop in Malta, where the company is based, between the 13th and 15th of March 2023.

Team members from Brazil, Australia, the U.K., Germany, South Africa and Malta attended in person, with several others joining the conference virtually. Over the two days, the company discussed its plans for the next three years and beyond, as it continues to develop new innovative technologies to meet the needs of an ever-evolving market. This includes the shift from oil to renewable energy, with LNG acting as a suitable energy source to support the transition.

EM&I Group has developed several technologies that are now being used to extend the life of existing FSRUs, as these are key to delivering LNG to Europe safely. Such technologies include NoMan® and ODIN®, which have been designed to help assure asset integrity, and increase the safety of inspections and repair.

NoMan does this by eliminating the need for confined space working, allowing inspections to be carried out remotely using state-of-the-art cameras and drone technology. The ODIN service line focuses on improving safety levels of underwater inspections (UWILDs) by removing divers from the equation altogether. Advanced robotic technologies are used to replace humans during the inspection and maintenance works, delivering far more cost-effective, efficient and reliable results.

As EM&I continues to develop its offering, the company’s workshops play an important role in identifying future needs and finding solutions to industry challenges.

“After a pause of our in-person gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was great to gather the team in Malta to discuss the future of EM&I as we delve further into the renewable energy and LNG sector. Through the workshop, we’re able to learn from global delivery experience, share ideas and discuss innovative solutions for the betterment of the safety and integrity of the energy sector,” said Danny Constatinis, CEO and Executive Chairman of EM&I Group.
