EM&I Flies in Macaé

May 31st, 2024

EM&I has launched its first UAV pilot training course in Macaé, aimed at strengthening our Remote Inspection capabilities for floating offshore energy production assets.

In partnership with ITARC, the training started with basic drone flying lessons and has advanced to specific training on the Scout137 Drone System by ScoutDI. Representatives from Stark Energy Ltd, EM&I’s Channel Partner in Ghana, are also participating.

The training aims to implement EM&I’s NoMan PLUS techniques, enabling inspections without physical entry into confined spaces, such as cargo oil tanks.

Additionally, EM&I is running its second ROV pilot training course in Macaé. These initiatives improve safety, reduce operational downtime, drive efficiency, cut costs, and lower carbon emissions.

Papa Benin, Managing Director at Stark Energy Ltd, said: “EM&I is always leading the way with remote inspection innovations as well as development of local talents for global operations in a sustainable manner. Our appreciation to EM&I for training two Stark Energy UAV Pilots in Brazil as part of capacity building of local talents in Africa and beyond”.
